  • Walking – miles of peaceful footpaths so numerous lovely walks – just ask!
  • Cycling quiet roads for cycling or hire a bike at Rutland Water. For a whole day of cycling, go around the whole reservoir. www.rutlandcycling.co.uk
  • Riding Bulby riding stables are 10 minutes away. Lesson or hacks available

  • Fishing – a number of small fishing lakes nearby or hire a boat and fish at Rutland Water
  • Swimming – Bourne 50m outdoor and 25m indoor swimming pools

  • Royal Oak Swayfield – our local! Good home cooking and child friendly and only a 2 minute walk
  • Coachman, Corby Glen – ciabatta lunches are excellent value. Walk across the fields from the cottage and earn your lunch!
  • The Willoughby Arms, Little Bytham. A must for real ale fans.
  • The Olive Branch – Michelin Star and nationally recognised so you need to book very early but worth the visit
  • Stamford has a great range from The George Hotel to Thai, Indian and Italian
